Atrium DIY-Cafe
All hireable spaces have shared use of our Atrium DIY-Cafe area which is situated on the ground floor. This space is used by our community of Residents, tenants and guests and is the spot where interesting conversations might happen over the brewing of a cup of tea. Much like hosting guests in your kitchen, the Atrium has a relaxed homely atmosphere, with a range of tea, coffee, dairy and non-dairy milk options available for you to help yourself to. Refreshments are maintained through a donation pot which is kept on the DIY-Cafe island, please do let us know if you want something that we do not have.

About Kaleider Studios
Kaleider Studios is at 45 Preston Street, in the West Quarter of Exeter, UK. It has been home to artists for four decades and is now a production studio which plays on the edges of installation, live performance and digital. It is a collaborative co-working space where we host and support a Resident community of creative individuals and companies, many of whom we collaborate with and who collaborate with each other.
We rent studios on our 1st and 2nd floor to a range of creative organisations. These include Preston Street Films, and tech company Switch Systems who lead the vibrant network Tech Exeter.
Sustainability
We endeavour to support local businesses in our purchases and attempt to remain as plastic and waste-free as possible in the management of resources in the building. When catering from smaller activities, we buy our food from planet-friendly vegetarian & vegan restaurants The Flat and The Plant Cafe. Please talk to us about how we can work together to help your event meet those goals.
Why we do what we do
Kaleider’s aim is to bring people together to respond creatively to some of the greatest challenges of our time. We want to create extraordinary, human centred experiences, products and services that help us all towards a better understanding of ourselves and our world. Any room hire income directly supports our community and work as a non-profit.
We are happy to offer a 20% discount for charities and non-profits.
Access
We have a range of spaces available to hire including Studio 1 which are situated on the ground floor and are wheelchair accessible. Our hireable meeting rooms are in the basement and on the 2nd floor, accessed via stairs. More access information can be found here.
