I’m a cultural geographer based in the University of Exeter Geography Department. I have two strands to my research – historical geographies of colonial encounter in India and the cultural geographies of creative economies.

I started my work on the creative economy by looking at how the creative economy was working at a regional level in the South West. After that project I decided to focus in on the craft sector. I’ve been working with craft practitioners and organisations for a number of years, primarily in the SW and am currently in residency with the UK Crafts Council. I’m interested in making, making livelihoods, how creative policy works in practice, the spatial manifestations of creativity and collective organisations.
